NOTD- Nubar Honeysuckle.

Nubar Honey Suckle

Nail of the day today is from Nubar spring garden collection. It is the deep pink Honeysuckle.  I think it is one of my favourites from the collection as I am a fan of bright hot colours. If you look at the colour swatches in Nubars advert then it looks a little more subdued and coral. As you can see by my photos it has a bit more pow about it.

As with all Nubar colours I only had to use two coats to get a bottle perfect colour. Then I acheived a high gloss finish with their Diamont Topcoat.

Notd- Orly Gelac Haute Pink and TOWIE nail art

The nail of the day today is a bit of a special one. On Friday we had a customer in asking about a nail wrap just like Amy Childs from the TV show The Only Way is Essex. After doing some googleing we found the nails in question and notice it was not a nail wrap, but it was freehand nail art and 3d acrylic bows. Now I'm not one for taking fashion tips off TOWIE girls but I do like a challenge. I decided to give it a go. I have to confess this is my first attempt at doing any 3d acrylic designs.

So to begin with I painted my nail and nail tips with Orly's Gelac. The Gelac process took me about an hour. Then I had some pizza ( it was a Friday treat!). I then thought it would be best to practice some 3d bows. After two practices I went for it and applied six 3d bows to my nails. Doing my right hand with my left was a challenge, but I think they turned out ok. That process took me about an hour as well. Then I added the dots which took about 10 minutes. Finally a top coat was applied and I was finished.

Yes it was a challenge, but I think it was worth the effort and they have now inspired me to do more 3d designs. So I am going to be watching a lot of youtube videos on how to do different shapes. Keep your eyes open for the results.

Notd- China Glaze - DV8

Nail of the day today is from the China Glaze OMG collection. It is the super holo blue DV8. I really love this colour and whenever I wear it I get comments on how pretty and unusual it is. Like with most Holos it is best to do 3 thin coats rather than 2 thick ones. And you must ALWAYS use a nice topcoat.

As you can see in the 2nd photo, the holo effect is really good with this colour and it shines like a rainbow when out in the sun.(if you ever get chance!)

I have most Of the OMG Collection, as I do love Holos but this collection is now quite rare so if you do see any online snap it up!

Nubar Spring Garden Collection

Spring has finally sprung and its time to update your nail polish collections. Gone are the greys and the plums and in are creamy pastels!

The first spring collection I have got my hands on is the The Nubar Spring Garden Collection. It consists of 8 pastels.

Pink Lily – vibrant pink creme Earthen – subdued earthen grey creme Baby Sprout – soft pastel green Blue Hydrangea – muted pastel blue White Peony – ivory creme Yellow Primrose – delicate pale yellow Purple Aster – dusty pastel purple Honeysuckle – cheerful pink/ coral.
All of the colours seem to have a very light shimmer to them, this is not a glitzy glitter but a soft sheen that works well with the pastel tones.
I decided to do a little nail art and maybe I will add a couple of bows so they look like easter eggs? Here is a list of the colours I used:
1 . Blue Hydrangea
2.  Purple Aster
3.  Earthen
4.  Baby Sprout
5.  Pink lily

This is a 2 / 3 coat polish and the first coat looks a little thin but sorts itself out by the 2nd coat.

The Nubar Spring collection is available from http://www.idealhairandbeauty.com/ for £4.38 and the whole Nubar collection is available from http://www.beautyshed.co.uk/ .

Notd: Nubar - Absolute

Absolute by Nubar (no flash)
Nail Of The Day today is the shimmery and holographic Absolute by Nubar. It is a light sky blue that seems to change depending on the light. It is classed as a holographic polish but its is a smooth holo rather than the chunky effect the China Glaze holos have. It is a very sparkly polish which does catch the light really well.

This polish was applied in two coats and lasted for about a week(without any chips) with a good top coat.

Nubar polishes are available from Idealhairandbeauty.com for £5.10 including absolute
http://www.beautyshed.co.uk/ also sells Nubar Polishes but does not seem to have this colour in it's collection.

NOTD China Glaze Crackle Glaze - Black Mesh

China Glaze Black Mesh over Orly's Green with envy

Today Nail of the day is inspired by St Patricks day. It is the 4th visit to the China Glaze Crackle Glaze collection and it is the backbone of all polish collections and stable of all fashions - Black or in this case Black Mesh

As you can see by the first picture this crackle glaze over Orly polish gives a nice wide cracked effect which shows just the right amount of base colour. As always the crackle glaze has a slightly matt finish but as the Orly is so shiny I have not applied a topcoat.

Anyway I hope everyone has a great St Patricks Day!

Notd: Nubar - Petunia Sparkle

Nail of the day  today is from the archives  its is Petunia sparkles from the Nubar range. As you can see I have added some nail art using simple glitter stripers in black and silver.

In real life the colour is slightly more pink and the colour is very intense. The best thing about this glitter polish is that it only needs 2 coats and it is not a grainy finish it is a high shine smooth finish.

The sparkles collection has 8 colours and currently I only have this one but plan to buy more very soon as it is such an eye catching effect.
